Friendship/Rivalry with Marian is measured in a 200-point scale. When one reaches +100 of either scale, she will start thinking of them as either a friend (Marian promises to protect you through thick or thin.) or a rival (Marian's expecting a knife in the back -- question is, is it yours or hers?). When they reach +200, she will "lock on" that state of mind. Fear not, when your character reaches the big +200 on the rivalry scale, she would actually stop hating them; she would, instead, respect them highly as a rival and agree to disagree.
